| How do I wash, style & wear my hair extensions?
Be gentle on the hair anytime the hair is wet, as the
bonds may slip if too much tension is applied. Try to
shampoo your hair no more than once every 2 to 3 days,
being sure to dry the hair and bonds thoroughly on a
low to medium heat & speed setting after each time
the hair becomes wet. If you feel that this amount of
time in between cleansing is too much, a simple trick
of baby powder lightly applied to the scalp areas will
absorb any oil residue. [After applying the baby powder
use a soft, cotton towel to gently wipe away any extra
powder off the hair and scalp area.] Using high quality
shampoos and conditioners such as Pureology will help
to keep your hair in optimum condition, inferior products
on your hair will cause dryness, tangling and may loosen
the bonds. Aim to keep conditioning products away from
the bonds, otherwise the bonds may loosen and slip.
Never wash your hair upside down or yank on it with
your normal brushes and combs. Use a loop brush when
brushing the hair dry, and a large to medium tooth comb
when wet with a conditioner applied for easier combing.
Also, when brushing or combing, hold the base of the
extension bonds firmly against your scalp, then start
from the ends and work upwards. This is so that there
is a minimum of tugging on the bond; tugging on tangled
hair could cause you discomfort or pull out the bonded
hair.
